Matthew Cholewa – Agency Services Manager
Before joining Stewart in 2011 as Counsel, Agency Services Manager and Vice President, Matthew gained a wealth of experience. In the early 1990s, he worked as an attorney for Robinson & Cole LLP. While there, he dealt primarily with commercial and residential real estate transactions, land use and litigation of disputes affecting real property rights.
From 1998 to 2006, Matthew served as Underwriting Counsel for Lawyers Title Insurance Corporation and Commonwealth Land Title Insurance Company. He was also Vice President of Land America Exchange Company. Matthew worked with the Connecticut office of First American Title Insurance Company from 2006 to 2011 as State and Claims Counsel and Underwriting Counsel. Today, in addition to his current position at Stewart, Matthew is the Connecticut and Rhode Island Divisional Manager for Asset Preservation, Inc.
Matthew also has several professional and civic affiliations. He has been elected as a member of the House of Delegates for the Connecticut Bar Association Governing Body, treasurer for the Connecticut Bar Association Real Property Section, and is a member of the Real Estate Finance Association, to name a few. Furthermore, Matthew has bar admissions in Connecticut, the Federal District of Connecticut and Massachusetts.
Matthew earned a B.S. in computer science and engineering as well as a masters in business administration from the University of Connecticut. He received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law.
