Paul W. Hobby (Advisory)
Paul W. Hobby, is founding Chairman of Genesis Park, L.P., a Houston-based private equity business specializing in energy technology and communications investments. He previously served from 2004–2011 as the CEO of Alpheus Communications, Inc., a Texas wholesale telecommunications provider, and from 2002–2006 as Chairman of CapRock Services, Inc., the largest provider of satellite services to the global energy business. Prior to Genesis Park, Mr. Hobby created the world’s largest provider of media software, Columbine JDS Systems, and has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions.
Mr. Hobby previously served on the boards of several publicly-traded companies and currently serves on the board of NRG Energy, Inc. He is Chairman of the Houston Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, Chairman-Elect of the Greater Houston Partnership, and a member of the Texas Ethics Commission. His public experience includes the United States Department of Justice, where he served as a federal prosecutor, and the State of Texas, where he served as Chief of Staff to the Lieutenant Governor.
Mr. Hobby is a graduate of the University of Virginia and the University of Texas School of Law, where he has served as an adjunct faculty member and been honored as an Outstanding Young Alumnus. He is active in community affairs, and is a frequent speaker on leadership and private equity topics. He has been a Stewart director since 1989.
