Message from the general manager
Welcome to the latest issue of The Conveyancer. Much has happened at Stewart Title since our last publication, including the opening of the new offices for the Australian Institute of Conveyancers (AIC) WA Division, which incorporates Stewart Title’s WA offices and the dedication of the new Stewart Title Education Suite. We anticipate that this site will become a landmark for conveyancing in Western Australia for many years to come.
Elsewhere, we recently had the privilege of sponsoring both the AIC Tasmania Division Conveyancing Forum as well as the Law Institute of Victoria Property Law Conference. Both events were largely successful and a testament to the number of lawyers understanding and providing Title Insurance in their practices.
2013 is a milestone year for Stewart Title as it marks our 10th year of operation in Australia and our 120th anniversary since the founding of our parent company Stewart in Galveston, Texas, USA. To celebrate, Stewart Title has been hosting a number of events throughout Australia. Details of these celebrations are provided in this newsletter.
Our initial anniversary celebration took place on in Mount Barker, South Australia together with the AIC South Australian Division with a high quality conference. The conference included guests of Stewart Title, Detective Senior Constable Rob Martin and Detective Senior Constable Tony Vesperman from the Major Fraud Squad in Perth, who gave chilling insights into the recent property frauds in Western Australia.
In our over 10 years in Australia, we have earned a great degree of loyalty and trust from the conveyancing community. We truly appreciate your continued business and pledge a commitment to continuing our support of the conveyancing and legal professions as a whole.
We look forward to an exciting and busy end to 2013 and wish a prosperous period for all.
