Announcements

  • Title Policy endorsement information is no longer required to receive a policy jacket from a Stewart Access integrated TPS. Agents should still include all endorsement details when reporting the full policy to Stewart.
  • Agents should confirm all locations are shown in the location drop down when running a Portal Register Report as some locations added after initial account setup may be missing. If you notice a location missing please contact customer service with the location name to have it added.
  • Need Access? To request credentials for Stewart Access, please complete and submit the Data Collection form. Stewart Access credentials will be sent via secure email, generally within 48 hours.

What's Next?

Here are some of the enhancements we are currently working on in our upcoming release, slated for later this year:

  • Streamlined Express Page added to the Stewart Access Portal, allowing most types of policies to be generated faster from a single page, with fewer clicks and less information required upfront.
  • Improved integrations with TPS providers, aimed at reducing the information requested and time it takes to generate a CPLs and Policies with Stewart.
  • Reworked Endorsement functionality, allowing multiple Endorsements to be selected by checkbox.
  • Ability to quickly and easily edit issued CPLs.
  • Ability to issue CPLs after a Commitment, Policy or Guarantee Jacket has been issued on the file.
  • Reduced required information needed to issue a CPL and Policy. For example, now only requiring address for party insured on transaction.

Tips & Tricks

The following Tips & Tricks were designed to enhance your user experience in Stewart Access. The first set of Tips & Tricks applies to all users and each subsection below applies specifically to Portal and Integration users.

All Stewart Access Users

For Stewart Access Portal application users and other external TPS Integrations, prefix numbers will no longer be part of your serial number. However, the Prefix is available for viewing purposes only in the lower left corner of the form.

For AIM+ users, the prefix is still visible on the Policy screen but is not issued as part of the serial number.

For states that charge for CPLs Stewart Access is not currently calculating and populating the remittance fields automatically. Agents need to first enter the premium and remittance amounts and then click the Save/Preview button a second time to have Stewart Access populate the CPL and Jacket remittance amounts.

Please Note: You are still able to overwrite the calculated amounts in these fields if you feel they are not correct.

The lender Name field in Stewart Access is currently limited to 100 characters. If your lender name is longer, please enter only the first 100 characters.

When entering an Original Policy Number do not include the dashes. For example, M-0001-888899999 should be entered as "M0001888899999".

Tips and tricks for using the Lender functionality in Stewart Access.

Requesting Successor Language to be Added to a Lender

To request Custom Successor Language to be added to a specific Lender, submit a ticket to the Customer Care Center. In the ticket, please provide the name of the Lender you need the Custom Successor Language added to along with the exact Custom Successor Language needed.  Also, note in the ticket that this is a Stewart Access request and should be directly routed to the Lender Management Admin queue.

Promoting a Prospect Lender to Approved Lender

Requesting a Prospect to be promoted to an Approved Lender gives Portal users the ability to utilize the Favorites functionality. Also, if needed, it gives the Lender Admin the ability to add custom successor language to that lender and make it available in the Approved Lender list.

To promote a Prospect Lender to become an Approved Lender, submit a ticket to the Customer Care Center.  In the ticket, please provide the name of the Prospect Lender you would like promoted to Approved Lender. Also, be sure to note in the ticket that this is a Stewart Access request and should be directly routed to the Lender Management Admin queue.

The Texas Department of Insurance requires that a notification be included with each policy that provides customers with contact information for the Title Insurance Agent and Texas Department of Insurance. This is to allow the customer to obtain information or make a complaint if needed. In order to meet this requirement, the Complaint Notice is now included as the last page of all Stewart Access policy and binder jackets.

Portal Only

These topics only apply to agents using the Stewart Access Web Portal.

Portal users have the ability to mark an Approved Lender as a Favorite. The Favorites list is at the user level, so you can only see the Lenders you have marked as your favorites. This feature makes it easier and faster to select Approved Lenders that you frequently associate with Files, CPLs and/or Jackets by clicking the Star icon in the Add Lender box to search for an existing lender.

The preferred browsers for Stewart Access Portal are Google Chrome and Microsoft Internet Explorer. Other browsers such as Microsoft Edge and Firefox are not recommended or supported.

If you are accessing Stewart Access Portal via Internet Explorer and the look and feel is not displaying as expected, it could be due to the browser's Compatibility View setting.

Integrations Only

These topics only apply to agents using a Stewart Access Integration.

Since the Commitment functionality is not available when using a Stewart Access Integration, state appropriate Commitment Jacket templates are available here and can be downloaded and used with your title production system (TPS) Schedules. You have the option to either use the provided Jacket and manually fill in your Company Name, City, State and File Number or have the Jacket formatted in TPS.

If the Commitment Word template you need is not on the site, please submit a ticket to customercare@stewart.com. In the ticket, please include which template you need and request for the ticket be routed to the Forms Team.

Issues Between Stewart Access and AIM+ Integration

If you are experiencing some functional issues using AIM+ with Stewart Access, please visit the AIM+ Known Issues page for workarounds to commonly occurring system issues.

AIM+ Policy Register Report with Stewart Access

After Stewart Access integration with AIM+, the process for creating your Policy Register Report will change. The Policy Register Report will generate from the Management Reports Module in AIM+ rather than the Policy Transmittal Module.

Creating the report in Management Reports not only captures policies and endorsements but will also capture CPL charges and policy/endorsement voids and adjustments. Please see AIM+ Policy Register with Stewart Access Integration Quick Reference Card for more details.

Please Note: You will continue to perform a Transmittal from the Policy Transmittal Module.

Stewart Access and AIM+ CPL New Work Flow

After Stewart Access integration with AIM+, the process for creating your Policy Register Report will change. The Policy Register Report will generate from the Management Reports Module in AIM+ rather than the Policy Transmittal Module.

Please Note: You will continue to perform a Transmittal from the Policy Transmittal Module.

The Stewart Access Lender email address field only holds 50 characters; however, the RamQuest Lender email address field holds 100 characters and will soon extend to 500.

If more than 50 characters are entered in the Lender email address in the RamQuest/Stewart Access integration, it will fail and the user will receive an "Unexpected Error" and will not be able to proceed until only 50 characters are in the Lender address field on the RamQuest side.
