Lawrence named vice president, senior underwriting counsel for Stewart Title Guaranty Co.

HOUSTON (Sept. 19, 2007) – Christopher Lawrence has been promoted to vice president, senior underwriting counsel for Stewart Title Guaranty Co.

Lawrence has served since 2005 as a national underwriting counsel and will continue to serve as assistant manager of the New York Metro office in Stewart’s National Title Services (NTS) division.

He has worked in the title industry for more than 10 years. Before coming to Stewart, Lawrence had served as a state underwriting counsel in Stamford, Conn., with Chicago Title Insurance Co. Previously, he was in private practice in Fairfield, Conn., with a concentration in commercial and residential real estate transactions.

“Christopher is an excellent title insurance underwriter who draws upon his experience in private practice to craft practical solutions to complex title problems,” said Bruce Hawley, senior vice president, senior underwriting counsel and manager of NTS-New York Metro.

Lawrence is a graduate of the University of Connecticut and Suffolk University Law School. He is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association and the Real Estate Finance Association of Connecticut.
