Sitting on the edge of the historical civil rights district in northwest downtown Birmingham, the Social Security Administration (SSA) Building stands out as a major redevelopment project in the area.

With approximately 587,000 square feet, the Social Security Administration Building provides office space to more than 2,200 people and serves as a payment processing center for the SSA.

The building is fully leased by the General Services Administration and is certified “Silver” by Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®). The eight-story building faces the Birmingham skyline, offering breathtaking panoramic views of downtown and the historic district.

The facility has a "green" roof with approximately 85,000 feet of vegetation. The five-story, 1,765-space parking garage is covered with a canopy which serves as a rainwater collection system to recycle water for landscape irrigation. Other amenities include a childcare center, fitness center auditorium, full-service cafeteria and credit union.

Title, escrow and closing for this noteworthy redevelopment project were handled by Stewart Title Guaranty Company – National Title Services, Dallas and Stewart Title Company – North Texas Division.
