Both physically and socially, The Park at Sutton Oaks is a catalyst serving to revitalize San Antonio’s Near East Side community. This 208-unit mixed-income apartment community represents the second phase in the master plan to demolish and rebuild new housing on the former site of the old Sutton Homes public housing project.

The Park at Sutton Oaks offers a mix of public housing and affordable and market-rate bedroom units within its nearly 200,000 square feet of living area. Amenities include a playground, children’s “spray ground” water park, movie theater, shaded dog park, fitness center, children’s learning center, 

social service classroom and green open space. The development will also offer a host of energy-saving features including ENERGY STAR® 3.0 rating, EPA Indoor Airplus for a healthy living environment, use of solar energy, recycled on-site irrigation, an electric car charging station, low-impact landscaping and more.

To show community spirit, a giant mosaic tile mural was created based on resident values and input. The mural embodies this development’s position in the history and future of the east side as a place of diversity and fellowship in the future, all while honoring its past.
