Only a couple of blocks from Central Park and minutes from Times Square, Hostelling International USA (HI USA) New York City Hostel is a special place to stay for a memorable travel adventure on the Upper West Side. Amenities include a breakfast café, full guest kitchen, game room, luggage storage, bicycle rental, laundry facilities, free Wi-Fi®, and an energetic staff that helps travelers experience the unique neighborhoods and hidden gems of New York that only the locals understand.

The hostel is located in a landmark, Victorian Gothic-style building, constructed in 1883 as a nursing home. Fast forward to 1990, the property was overhauled and transformed into the 670-bed HI USA New York City Hostel.

In 2014, renovations began, and the building was expanded to 735 beds, making it the largest hostel in North America.

HI USA is a non-profit membership organization founded on an enduring belief in the power of travel to foster a deeper understanding of people, places and the world around. It is their mission to promote a dynamic community of global citizens who have the wisdom and humanity to actively make the world a better place.
