2015 "Warm a Heart" Socks and Blankets Drive
16 DECEMBER 2015
Thank you all for another very successful year of caring and sharing with Austin's homeless.
On Tuesday my husband Robert and I, Wanda Frederick, delivered to ARCH/Front Steps a full truckload of warmth. These were items generously donated by our Gracy family, clients and us. I am proud to let you know that this was the best delivery to date and it has been about seven to eight years we have been supporting this organization.
Thanks to everyone's efforts, we dropped off approximately 330 blankets and over 550 pairs of socks. We also had cash donations of $440. The director of Front Steps and the volunteer/communications coordinator, Natalie Freeburg, were there to receive your gifts with smiles that would light up the White House Christmas Tree.
Natalie was expressing their gratitude and, in the process, told us that they sometimes receive a blanket and a couple of pairs of socks from someone and they look up at the line of homeless people needing one or both of these items. They look at their very generous donation, then at each other, all wondering "how do we share these?" Then, angels come along and make a donation just as we did. Chill bumps! It is difficult to share an experience in writing, but, trust me, each of you take a moment to hug yourself because that is just what it felt like ... a big hug.
Bless each of you as you go through this holiday season and may each of you receive just a little of what you give because you have the biggest hearts in Texas!
2015 Facebook Charity Contest
25 AUGUST 2015
The top six finalists for this year included: Austin's Children's Services, HAAM, Austin Pets Alive!, Austin Angels, Hope Alliance and our winner Zilker Theatre Productions.
This year marks the 10th anniversary in which Gracy Title has enthusiastically promoted a local charity to help boost their presence and encourage others in the community to get involved. Leading up to Realty Roundup, Gracy Title's Facebook® Charity Contest gives customers and friends the opportunity to vote on a local nonprofit.
Zilker Theatre Productions, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is dedicated to preserving and celebrating the art form of the Broadway Musical by providing award-winning, free admission entertainment. The Beverly Zilker Hillside Theater in Zilker Park is where these elaborate large-scale productions take place, boasting an attendance of 40,000 annually. This would not be possible without the generous contributions and support by the members of our community.
This year the popular vote, and recipient of an instant $1,000 donation, went to Zilker Theatre Productions. Gracy Title's looking forward to teaming up with Zilker Theatre Productions to help bring awareness to this great, cultural and local resource. We will collaborate throughout 2015 to help gain additional exposure and assist with fundraising efforts here in our Central Texas community.
Thank you all for your votes and your collaboration!
