Jim began his career in the title industry in 1980 as Michigan state counsel for a major title insurance company. In 1985, he was appointed Midwest regional counsel. In those capacities, Jim was responsible for all underwriting, claims and related legal matters. In 2009, Jim joined Stewart Title Guaranty Company as Agency Services manager for the state of Michigan, and in 2010 was appointed Agency Services district manager for the north central states district, comprised of Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio. In this role, Jim supports and oversees all Agency Services operations within the district.
Jim earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from the University of Michigan, and his Juris Doctorate from Wayne State University Law School, Detroit, Michigan. He is a member of the Land Title Standards Committee and the Title & Conveyancing Committee of the State Bar of Michigan, and is also a former member of the ALTA® Forms Committee where he served from 2006 to 2012.
Jim, his wife, Jennifer, and their two children, Anna and Nico, reside in Northville, Michigan. His interests include traveling, politics, Detroit Tiger baseball, and University of Michigan football.
