David G. Baghdady
David joined Stewart Title in 2016 and serves as the Connecticut state manager and underwriting counsel in Hartford. He earned his Juris Doctorate from the Quinnipiac College School of Law in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and graduated in the top 20% of his class. Prior to that, he earned a B.S. in business economics from the University of Bridgeport with the designation of business school valedictorian.
David began working in the title insurance industry in 2000 with First American® as branch counsel and associate state counsel. In 2015, he rose to the position of Connecticut state council shortly before his transition to Stewart Title. He has held the sole responsibility of commercial and residential underwriting for transactions, ranging from single-family dwellings to complex, multi-million dollar commercial projects.
He has superior problem-solving skills and, in the past, has used this skillset masterfully, increasing sales by 150%, developing a successful seller-side conveyance program and designing and co-developing a desktop rate calculator. He also designed and conducted an ongoing, seven-part, real estate training program for attorneys and paralegals.
David is known as an industry expert and is a frequently requested keynote for the Connecticut Bankers Association, local lenders, real estate agents and bar associations. He has led Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act and Truth in Lending Act training since 2010 and has managed underwriting and 200+ title agent sales teams. David is a member of the First American Federal Regulatory Committee, and his noteworthy industry association designations include president of the Connecticut Title Association and board member and secretary for the New England Land Title Association.
