Landata e-Recording System integrates with BROWNtech’s document management and imaging systems to enable remote electronic recording

SAN ANTONIO (June 28, 2004) – Landata Technologies Inc. and BROWNtech Inc. have signed an alliance agreement supporting integration between the Landata e-Recording System™ (LERS) and BROWNtech’s document management and imaging systems for county clerks and registries of deeds.

The integration will provide the ability to electronically record real estate documents in counties using the BROWNtech system to receive, cashier, index, proof, scan, view and fax various public documents.

“LERS enables submitters – usually title companies, attorneys and lenders – the ability to electronically record mortgages, transfers of title and other closing documents with county clerks, recorders and registries of deeds,” said Alan Cellura, president and chief executive officer, Landata Technologies.

“This is a great opportunity to enable e-recording in our document management system,” said Cliff Brown, president, BROWNtech. “It allows us to serve a wider range of submitters and provide them with a common interface, regardless of the recording package the county is using.”

“Any authorized submitter can use LERS, regardless of its title production software or – in most cases – county recordation systems,” said Cellura. “LERS is a Web-based, desktop, standalone application on an open systems platform, using a rules-based architecture to manage multiple document types for imaging and transmission.”

The secure electronic documents include electronic document images, index information and cashiering information.
