"I anticipate a successful 2006 as we strengthen our relationship with NAREB," said José Menéndez, vice president, national director of multicultural markets, Stewart Title. "I look forward to the coming events. The partnership between NAREB and Stewart will strive to increase homeownership opportunities for all."
Attendees discussed various initiatives between the groups, as well as Stewart Title's participation in the NAREB Mid-Winter Conference, being held Feb. 19-24 in Mobile, Ala. Alan Thompson, Stewart Title multicultural director for Florida, will present "Gaining the Competitive Edge." Larry Bullock, Stewart Title multicultural director for the mid-America region, and Stewart Title Alabama representative Michael Webber will present a session on HUD 203(k) and 203(H) programs for mortgage financing relating to loss mitigation and Gulf Coast recovery.
Assisting Gulf Coast residents who are victims of the 2005 hurricanes is a prime initiative of NAREB President Clifford Turner.
"Stewart is proud to help NAREB in their effort to spread the word about these HUD programs to advance the recovery of the Gulf Coast region," said Matthew Morris, senior vice president, Stewart Title.
In addition, Stewart Title continues to enhance the NAREB relationship by hosting seminars for NAREB members, including a recent Miami event where a presentation was made about Stewart products and services.
