Stewart will make donations on behalf of Realtors® to Habitat’s Operation Home Delivery during NAR annual conference in New Orleans from Nov. 10 to 14
HOUSTON, Oct. 20, 2006 – Stewart Title, a national real estate information and title insurance company, is providing real estate professionals attending the 2006 Realtors® Conference and Expo in New Orleans next month with a simple way to show their support for their host city, heavily damaged last year by Hurricane Katrina. From Nov. 10 to 14, Stewart will make a $5 donation to Operation Home Delivery on behalf of each conference attendee that completes a pledge form available at the Stewart booth (booth no. 1611).
Operation Home Delivery is a Habitat for Humanity® hurricane relief program that is providing critical relief to the thousands left homeless by Hurricane Katrina. The donation made by Stewart on behalf of real estate professionals attending the conference will be used to build homes in partnership with victims of the hurricane in those neighborhoods that were severely damaged or destroyed.
“Stewart is passionate about making the American dream of homeownership attainable for everyone. Therefore, we are proud to be able to assist those in New Orleans who lost their homes last year as the result of Hurricane Katrina,’ said Matt Morris, senior vice president, Stewart Title. “When we all come together, we can make a significant difference in the lives of those in our very own communities who have been affected by natural disasters.”
Habitat for Humanity has nearly 400 houses complete or under construction along the Gulf Coast through its Operation Home Delivery program. The organization aims to have 1,000 new houses completed in hurricane-affected communities by mid-2007. Attendees to the conference can have a donation made on their behalf by completing a pledge form at Stewart booth no. 1611.
