In the most recent Financial Stability Rating® from Demotech, Inc.(2), Stewart was given an A'' (A "double prime") rating which, according to Demotech means, "Regardless of the severity of a general economic downturn or deterioration in the insurance cycle, underwriters earning a Financial Stability Rating of A'' possess unsurpassed financial stability related to maintaining positive surplus as regards policyholders." Additionally, Fitch Ratings Ltd.(3), has given Stewart Title Guaranty Company (STGC) and Stewart Title Insurance Company (STIC) an Insurer Financial Strength (IFS) rating of 'BBB+' which they define as "Good" and "investment grade".
