Houston - Dec. 19, 2005 - Seated center, Pfc. Kenneth Adams, 10th Mountain Division, and his wife, Katie, are joined by Stewart Title President Stewart Morris, Jr. (left), Chairman Malcolm Morris and Escrow Officer Jo Ann Garcia at their recent title closing. Blinded while serving in Afghanistan, Adams has received a new home from the Coalition to Salute America's Heroes, Newland Communities, Perry Homes and private donors; Stewart Title donated the title insurance and closing services.
To help accommodate his loss of vision, the Adams' home includes a voice-activation system to lock doors, set the thermostat and activate the alarm system. Currently, Adams attends computer training classes and his wife is attending Houston Community College in preparation for nursing school.
"Stewart is proud to help a young man who has done so much for our country," said Stewart Morris Jr. "Kenny's attitude and determination are unbelievable and we are so happy that we could be a part of this special donation and help this family move into their new home just before the holidays."
