HOUSTON (May 17, 2004) - Stewart Realty Solutions has named Walt Clark as vice president of technology deployment.

Stewart Realty Solutions is a wholly owned subsidiary of Stewart Information Services Corp. (NYSE-STC), offering realty firms a bundle of information services, RESPA-compliant title insurance ventures, and Internet-based transaction management solutions that support the full service, "one-stop-shopping" business model.

"Walt will contribute to the strategic planning, business development and technology deployment of our SureClose® and RealtyAssist transaction management systems," said Travis Wright, president and chief executive officer, Stewart Realty Solutions.

"Walt brings deep insight and hands-on experience with the technology requirements of enterprise-sized realty organizations that are leaders in the industry," added Wright. "He also has developed extensive expertise with online transaction management systems within the real estate industry, and we are delighted to add his talents, experience and energy to our team."

Clark most recently served as a consultant to a national title insurance company directing implementation of Internet-based real estate settlement services and transaction management solutions. He also has held senior level positions at Prudential Real Estate and Coldwell Banker, where he directed development and delivery of technology solutions for those real estate franchisers and their relocation services subsidiaries.

"I'm excited to join an organization with such an intense focus and passion for enhancing the real estate transaction experience for all its constituents," said Clark. "As a leader in realizing the benefits of the paperless transaction process, I look forward to working closely with Stewart's local, state and regional title office network to deploy Stewart's transaction management products and services to its local realty firms and regional MLSs (Multiple Listing Services)."

Stewart Realty Solutions acquired RealtyAssist in late January. The firm provides paperless transaction management solutions to the real estate, closing and mortgage industries. RealtyAssist had partnered with Stewart Title Co. for four years to provide the private-labeled transaction management system for Stewart title agents. The SureClose system is already installed in more than 585 Stewart affiliated and independent title agent offices, with some 250,000 files either closed or in escrow.

Stewart Information Services Corp. is a technology driven, strategically competitive, global real estate information company. Stewart provides title insurance and related information services through more than 7,400 issuing locations in the United States and several international markets. Stewart meets the needs of the real estate and mortgage industries through the delivery of information services required for settlement using e-commerce. These services include title reports, flood determinations, document preparation, property reports and background checks. Stewart also supplies post-closing services to lenders, automated county clerk land records, property ownership mapping and GIS for governmental entities. Stewart provides expertise in tax-deferred exchanges. More information about Stewart can be found at www.stewart.com.
