Title and Escrow Veteran Completes Bay City Team
SAN FRANCISCO (June 19, 2007) – The San Francisco division of Stewart Title of California, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Stewart Information Services Corp. (NYSE:STC), has hired Steven Rascher as branch manager of its Bush Street Office.
Rascher rounds out Stewart Title’s San Francisco team of Sheila Santangelo and Connie Choy, branch managers of the Presidio Center and Sunset offices, respectively.
Rascher began his title industry career with Stewart Title in 1987. A Certified Escrow Officer for 15 years, he has been president of the Bay Area Escrow Association four separate times, director of the California Escrow Association for 10 years, and a delegate to the American Escrow Association for five different conferences. Because of his extensive and distinguished escrow career, Rascher will continue to run an escrow desk while managing the Stewart office. He says his goal for his first year as branch manager is to “increase revenue and market share while increasing the staff both in size and in education.”
Michael Patricio, division president for Stewart Title’s San Francisco unit, explains that Rascher’s strengths lie “in his escrow knowledge and in his longevity as an established escrow officer in the Financial District.” Patricio continues, “Steven has an excellent reputation in the escrow community and has established several lasting relationships with builders, lenders and real estate professionals in San Francisco.”
Originally from St. Louis, Mo., Rascher has a bachelor’s degree from Southeast Missouri State University and a master’s degree from St. Louis University. He has taught theater, speech, directing and set design for 16 years and has lived in San Francisco for 21 years.
