Stewart Transaction Solutions names Vaden CEO

Pat Vaden, a 30-year title industry and title technology veteran, has been elevated to chief executive officer of Stewart Transaction Solutions, a wholly owned subsidiary of Stewart Information Services Corp. (NYSE:STC).

HOUSTON (April 5, 2007) – Pat Vaden, a 30-year title industry and title technology veteran, has been elevated to chief executive officer of Stewart Transaction Solutions (STS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Stewart Information Services Corp. (NYSE-STC).

Vaden only last fall became president and CEO of the new Stewart subsidiary, PropertyInfo Corp., which brought together Stewart's real estate information subsidiaries REI Data Inc., First Data Systems, Ultima Corp., Stewart Re-Source and Information Services of Illinois. He will remain in that position.

"Technology is an essential tool for our customers to improve customer service and improve productivity, while innovation is essential to long-term success."

Vaden will work closely with Murshid S. Khan, the newly named chief information officer for Stewart Information Services Corp.

In 1974, Vaden co-founded Cumberland Title Co., a title insurance and closing agency, and in 1975 he co-founded First Data Systems. He served as president and CEO of the Nashville-based companies until they were acquired by Stewart in 2002.

First Data Systems, a recent addition to the PropertyInfo Corp. family of companies, is a technology provider specializing in application hosting and software application services for the title industry. First Data’s TitleWorkPlace™ is one of the nation’s largest application service providers (ASPs), serving more than 3,300 settlement service users nationwide.

Vaden received a bachelor of business administration degree from Middle Tennessee State University.
