HOUSTON (April 29, 2010) – Stewart Title Guaranty Company (STGC), a wholly owned subsidiary of Stewart Information Services Corp. (NYSE-STC), announced today that senior vice president and senior underwriting counsel, Monique Winston, has been named in the fourth edition of "Who’s Who in Black Houston".
This book recognizes Houston's African-American achievers and prominent citizens, and celebrates African-American accomplishments. The featured Houstonians were officially announced at the networking event held in Houston on Monday, April 26, 2010.

Winston has worked in the title industry for over 13 years. She provides substantial underwriting assistance to Stewart’s multi-state, national agencies and works closely with many of the large national lenders. She is also instrumental in new product development and analysis. In addition to underwriting, Winston focuses much of her time in the area of compliance and policy and procedure. Having previously worked as a compliance/resource officer and manager at a large vendor management company, Winston has developed a reputation as one of the young, up-and-coming leaders in the title industry. She has become well-known as a teacher and lecturer and has developed a curriculum of fundamental title/closing courses and workshops.
Winston is a 1991 graduate of Duquesne University and a 1994 graduate of Duquesne University School of Law. Her law school accomplishments are numerous including legal research and writing teaching assistant, front line editor to Juris Magazine and president of the Black Law Student's Association. Winston is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., a public services sorority; Omicron Delta Kappa, The National Leadership Honor Society and The National Association for Professional Mortgage Women. And, in 2007,
Monique was named one of the Top 40 Under 40 by October Research.
