HOUSTON - (March 3, 2003) Stewart's SureClose® transaction management system and the VAX AIM® title and escrow production system have integrated to offer agents quicker processing time.

Stewart Realty Services, developer of SureClose, and Landata Systems, developer of VAX AIM, will exhibit the products in the Stewart booth at the ALTA Tech Forum Convention March 9-11 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. Both companies are wholly owned subsidiaries of Stewart Information Services Corp. (NYSE-STC).

The SureClose transaction management system gives all parties to a real estate transaction - including sellers or refinance customers, buyers, real estate agents and brokers, builders, lenders, title agents and other settlement service providers - access to the transaction through a secure, password-protected Web site, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Title agents use the VAX AIM production system to create the closing documents that must be accessible by all of these parties.

With the new integration, order information and documents electronically export from version 10.0 of VAX AIM to SureClose.

"The integration has increased our productivity. We can push our product out to clients faster and they get to enjoy an immediate product," said Sherri Dabson, SureClose specialist for Stewart Title Services of Indiana.

Order Entry Flow

Information exported from VAX AIM automatically populates the appropriate SureClose fields. The electronic data flow has significantly decreased the time it takes Stewart Title of Kansas City's five-person order entry department to process approximately 3,000 orders a month.

"Since duplicate keying is no longer required, it only takes a few minutes to complete the entire order entry process. The time saved adds up really fast," said Melanie Atchison, SureClose administrator for the Kansas City office.

Documents Flow

Another new integration feature is the automatic flow of VAX AIM documents into SureClose. The transfer of documents and association with the proper files are completed automatically.

"The system is very user-friendly and will definitely help us advance to the top of our real estate market. It will be an enormous time-saver for everyone involved since the templates handle everything automatically," said Michelle Hudspeth, escrow officer, Stewart Title of Vail, Inc. "If I want to send a settlement statement, it immediately files it in SureClose in the proper place. I don't have to upload anything. It also sends an e-mail directly from my e-mail account, without requiring any manual intervention."

"With the integration, you never have to leave your desk. It creates individual fax cover sheets for each party, sends packets to each recipient and provides a confirmation that the documents were received. It all happens in one step in less than two minutes," Atchison said. "Our associates and our REALTORS® love it."
