Founded by Randy Schaffner as U.S. Title in 1988, a majority interest was sold to Stewart Title Company in November 2000.

Stewart Title of Wichita Falls is active in community affairs, including membership in the Wichita Falls Board of Commerce & Industry, Better Business Bureau, Wichita Falls Association of Realtors, and North Texas Home Builders Association.
In 1893, Maco Stewart purchased a Galveston Abstract company, marking the beginning of the Stewart companies. In 1905, Maco and Minor Stewart opened Stewart Title Guaranty Company in Galveston. Their brother-in-law, W.C. Morris, and later his sons, Carloss and Stewart Morris, Sr. operated the company. Today, Malcom and Stewart Morris, Jr., sons of Carloss and Stewart Morris, Sr., manage Stewart Title Guaranty Company, with headquarters in Houston and over 5000 issuing offices in all fifty states, Mexico, Canada, and Europe. Growth has been steady, and in 1972, Stewart Information Services Corporation became a publicly traded stock. The company carries "A Double Prime" rating from Demotech, the highest available for the field of 100 title insurance companies.
