Frequently Asked Questions About Our MLS Area Statistics
A: Our statistics are single family home sales in the Austin MLS (ABOR). They do not include any sales that take place off MLS, leases, or property types other than homes. They are residential statistics and do not include commercial data.
A: Our data data is sourced directly out of ABOR's MLS system.
A: "Austin area MSA" refers to the counties of Bastrop, Caldwell, Hays, Travis, Williamson and Cities of: Austin, Bastrop, Cedar Park, Georgetown, Leander, Lockhart, Pflugerville, Round Rock, San Marcos and Taylor. Our data will never match the MSA data because it’s not a comparison of the same data set. MSA data is released by Texas A&M Real Estate Center and can also include information that is not part of ABOR's data set, such as builder statistical data. Stewart Title of Austin has made a conscious decision not to use the A&M data because all their sources of origin can not be verified. For housing information within the Austin/Round Rock MSA area visit the market research page of the Texas A&M University Real Estate Center.
Our statistics are released two weeks after the end of each month to allow for users to catch up the backlog of that month's data that is constantly being updated in the MLS databse.
