Backed by Stewart Title Guaranty Company's more than 100 years of service in the abstract/title business, and a local history dating back to 1922, Stewart Title of Amarillo provides closing services, maintains escrow accounts and issues title insurance.

Stewart Title of Amarillo is committed to professional and consistent outstanding service to give each customer the utmost satisfaction while maintaining a team effort among company employees.

Founded by C.D. Sears as Amarillo Abstract Company, the firm was sold to William S. Harris in 1950 and to Stewart Title Guaranty Company in 1964. 

Stewart Title of Amarillo, with Lynn Rollins as president has written over $1 million in title insurance since 1998. Our customer base includes REALTORS®, lenders, mortgage bankers, credit unions, builders, developers and attorneys.

Stewart Title of Amarillo is active in community affairs, including membership in the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce, Better Business Bureau, Amarillo Board of REALTORS®, and Texas Panhandle Builders Association.

In 1893, Maco Stewart purchased a Galveston Abstract company, marking the beginning of the Stewart companies. In 1905, Maco and Minor Stewart opened Stewart Title Guaranty Company in Galveston. Their brother-in-law, W.C. Morris, and later his sons, Carloss and Stewart Morris, Sr. operated the company. Today, Stewart (NYSE: STC) is a leading provider of title insurance and related services to the real estate and mortgage industries. Throughout our 117-year history, our conservative management philosophy has allowed us to grow and remain strong through the ups and downs of the market. Stewart Title Guaranty Company's policyholders' surplus is one of the largest in the industry and we have the best debt-to-equity and premiums-to-reserves ratios of all major title insurers.* Our financial strength provides the confidence our customers need from their title insurer in these tough economic times.

Growth has been steady, and in 1972, Stewart Information Services Corporation became a publicly traded stock. The company carries an "A Double Prime" rating from Demotech Inc. the highest available for the field of 100 title insurance companies.
