30 Minute Pre-Showing Checklist
Have you recently put your home on the market? Ensuring that your home is pristine and ready to impress potential buyers is essential. While there are things you can do well ahead of time to get your home ready, we wanted to show you a quick and easy checklist for things to do in 30 minutes or less. Let’s start with giving your home a quick walk through. Here are the easiest things to do per room to get the space ready:
Bedrooms, Living Room and Dining Areas
Turn on All Lights.
Brighten up your home by turning on all lights, including lamps and overhead fixtures. Well-lit rooms feel more inviting and spacious.
Open Curtains and Blinds.
Natural light enhances the appeal of any room. Open curtains and blinds to let the sunlight in and showcase your home's best features.
Make the Beds.
Neatly made beds create a sense of order and cleanliness. Smooth out wrinkles and fluff pillows for a polished look.
Declutter Tables and Floors.
Remove any random items from tables and floors, such as toys, papers, or shoes. Clear surfaces make rooms appear larger and more organized.
Kitchen
Load the Dishwasher.
Put away any dirty dishes in the dishwasher to keep the sink and counters clear.
Empty the Trash.
Take out the trash to eliminate odors and ensure that trash cans are not overflowing. A fresh-smelling kitchen is always more appealing.
Clear and Wipe Down Counters.
Clear the countertops of small appliances, mail and other clutter. Wipe them down with a damp cloth to make them sparkle.
Bathrooms
Flush Toilets.
Ensure all toilets are flushed and lids are closed. This simple step can significantly improve the appearance of your bathrooms.
Wipe Down Counters and Fixtures.
Use a damp cloth to quickly wipe down counters, sinks and fixtures. Clean surfaces reflect well-maintained spaces.
Hang Towels Neatly.
Straighten or replace towels with fresh ones. Neatly hung towels add to the bathroom’s overall cleanliness and attractiveness.
Empty the Trash.
Remove bathroom trash to keep the area smelling fresh and looking tidy.
Exterior
Close the Garage Door.
A closed garage door provides a clean and streamlined look from the curb. It also hides any potential clutter inside.
Pick Up Yard Debris and Trash.
Spend a few minutes picking up any debris, trash or toys from the yard. A neat and well-kept exterior gives a positive first impression.
