Frequently Asked Questions Concerning Continuing Education (CE)

1. What is the CE credit request process?

Webinars as of 2020
Provide name and email into the registration form before you watch the webinar via WebEx.
After you complete the webinar you will be redirected to the Credit Request form.
Fill out that form in its entirety and click submit.
You’ll be notified your credit was submitted to Sircon within the 30 calendar days allotted.

Follow the directions on the website.
(Download using Chrome or Firefox – other browsers won’t download the entire podcast.)

For webinars recorded from March 2019 to December 2019, participants can fill out of the Credit Request form in its entirety and click submit.

For webinars recorded prior to March 2019, participants will follow the instructions provided at the end of each presentation.

2. When Can I Use the New Fillable Credit Request Form?

Webinars beginning 2020
At the end of each recording, you will be directed automatically to the Credit Request Form.

Webinars Recorded prior to March 2019
Participants will follow the instructions provided at the end of each webinar and e-mail requests to CECertificate@stewart.com.

3. What does TDI require to be eligible for CE Credit?

The participant must individually register for each webinar, listen to the entirety of the webinar and provide the 4 passwords given throughout the webinar.

4. When accessing recorded webinars from the TIPS website, will I still receive credit if the audio cuts off before I am able to hear all the passwords?

To receive credit, all 4 passwords are required in the order given.

All podcasts prior to January 16, 2020 must be listened to using Google Chrome or Firefox – the entire podcast may not download properly with other browsers.

5. When can I expect to receive my CE Credit confirmation?

Within 30 calendar days. TDI allows up to 30 calendars days for providers to submit credit to Sircon.

6. How long should I keep CE Certificates issued prior to March 15, 2019?

TDI currently requires certificate retention for four years after the date issued.

8. Why can’t my office listen to a presentation as a group?

As per TDI Regulations, each person must be verified by name on a registration list to receive credit.

9. Can someone else submit a credit request on my behalf?

No—per the TDI, providers can only submit credit confirmation to the person who took the course.

10. I submitted my CE Request which included all 4 passwords in the correct order, why did I get a notice indicating I am not able to receive CE credit?

If the incorrect license number was submitted, then your CE Credit cannot be processed through the Sircon website.

11. Where can I find my Escrow Officer license number?

The 7-digit TDI license number is found on the left side of your Escrow Officer Certificate of License.

12. How many CE and Ethics credits are required at the time of renewal?

Please see P-28 Requirements for Continuing Education for Title Agents and Escrow Officers; and Chapter 2652, Ins. Code for Agents and Escrow Officers.

13. If I have more than enough Ethics Credits, can those credits be used at CE Credit?

No, TDI approves webinars either for 1 hour of CE or 1 hour of Ethics. They cannot be interchanged.

14. Am I allowed to carryover extra hours to the next TDI License renewal period?

No. P-28III.A.1 states that continuing education courses must be taken during the actual renewal period. Excess hours may not be carried forward to the next reporting period.

15. What if I am licensed with multiple Title Agents?

Per the TDI, there will be only one (1) License number per Escrow Officer with all title agents linked to your number.

16. How many times may I take each webinar for credit?

17. Why aren’t all Continuing Education Credits showing up on my Sircon transcript?

Only credits received after March 15,2019 have been submitted to Sircon.

Credits processed prior to March 15, 2019 must be submitted by the Escrow Officer to the TDI via e-mail (CE@tdi.texas.gov). TDI will upload your CE Credit hours onto the Sircon website.
Providers do not have access to date CE Credit hours prior to March 15, 2019.

18. When do I need to renew my Escrow Officer License?

90-days prior to renewal, the TDI will send a notice of renewal – which will contain instructions on how to renew. Further information can be located on the TDI website or email provided for TDI licensing questions.

19. Why am I no longer receiving certificates?
